First Impressions Count! Fantastic example set by Company Director…

A nice story to report – Yesterday, an Essex based candidate of ours took the day off in order to attend an interview with a client, a Leading Lloyd’s broking house in the City.

Upon arrival, the candidate was greeted by a member of the HR team who settled him into a comfy room whilst they waited on the arrival of the recruiting Director.

15 minutes in and a short search of the office, an individual informed HR that the Director had been caught up in a client meeting.

A HR interview progressed none the less.

The candidate left the building and called me to feedback, very professionally of his interview, totally understanding that these things happen.

I then received two phone calls:

Firstly, from HR, very apologetic that this had occurred, especially given that the candidate had taken the day off.

Secondly, the Director himself – again, very apologetic and asking for the candidates number to call him to apologise directly. Most impressively, this phone call resulted in the line manager arranging to meet him face to face, in the candidate’s town in Essex, this coming Saturday morning.

What a great impression this is from a Director representing his company and what an influence and example set to the young man interviewing for a role within his team.
